About Us

Encara was established in 2004 by qualified and experienced physiotherapists, Peter O’Brien and Bradley Packer.

The motivation for Encara grew from the founders’ experience in aged care and their insight that physiotherapy had much more to offer to improve residents’ quality of life and to support managers of aged care facilities.

Originally trading as Queensland Aged Physiotherapy, Encara changed its name in 2008 to reflect its vision of becoming an encompassing source of care offering a range of allied health services.

The company has based its growth on setting new standards and expectations in every aspect of what it does. This dedication to excellence has led to partnerships with most of Queensland’s forward-thinking aged care organisations in both the not-for-profit and private sectors.

The directors of Encara believe that to offer great service, they must also be a great company to work for — a company that attracts, motivates and retains the very best practitioners and support staff.

In 2009, Encara established a new head office and a state-of-the-art physiotherapy centre for private clients, young and old, in Windsor, Brisbane.
